How to Create Engaging Content For Your Audience Part 2

Now that you have a few tips and tricks that you can use to create engaging content for your audience, here is a few more that you can put into play!

Ask Questions and Encourage Discussions:

  • Pose questions to your audience, encouraging them to share their thoughts in the comments. Use this to help guide your content and discussions.
  • Respond to comments and create a dialogue to keep the conversation going. When you interact with your audience, that shows them you care about what they have to say. You want to build a relationship with them so that they will come to you for your products and or services. Be genuine!!

Utilize User-Generated Content:

  • Showcase content created by your audience. It builds a sense of community and involvement. For example, let’s say you are a retail store and customers like to send in or tag you in photos of themselves wearing your or using your products. First, always ask for permission to post, but then take that content and make a post sharing to your audience.
  • Run contests or campaigns to encourage user-generated content. Of course the best way to get your audience to participate would be to reward them with a gift card or some kind of deal.

Be Authentic and Transparent:

  • Authenticity builds trust. Be transparent about your brand values, mission, and behind-the-scenes processes. Be sure to carry each of them throughout your posts. Of course you do not need to do it on every single post, but just enough to where your audience is familiar with it.
  • Share both successes and failures to humanize your brand. Share your story on how you built your business from the ground up. When your audience sees how much work, effort and time you put into your brand they will respect you.

Optimize for Mobile:

  • Ensure your content is mobile-friendly, considering the increasing number of users accessing content on mobile devices.
  • Optimize images and keep the layout responsive for a seamless mobile experience. There is such a thing as “too busy” and when something is too busy, people tend to just scroll on by. When your content is clean cut and to the point, it is so much easier for your followers to engage.

Consistency is Key:

  • Establish a consistent posting schedule to keep your audience engaged. For example, we like to have content scheduled 3 times a week. Your followers will know you are still checking your post comments, messages and they will be more likely to engage with you.
  • Consistency builds anticipation and helps in developing a loyal readership. The more content you post, the better chance you have of your followers clicking on your page or your links. But remember, do not post too often (more than once a day) unless it is absolutely necessary.

Encourage Social Sharing:

  • Include easily shareable buttons and calls-to-action in your content. For example, you have a website that you want to attract your audience to. Add easy to click links after showcasing the website in a way that does not give it completely away!
  • Leverage social media platforms to extend the reach of your engaging content. The amount of followers who see your content in one day is going to be more than what you see physically in a day. You can reach so many people on social media!

Measure and Analyze:

  • Use analytics tools to measure the performance of your content. For example, on Facebook use your Meta Business Suite to see when your followers are engaging in your content, how many likes, shares and comments etc.
  • Identify what works best and refine your strategy based on data-driven insights. Data is not wrong, use it to your advantage and this will help you gain followers!
